250 Class
First Moto – Justin Cooper got the holeshot but didn’t hang on long as teammate Shane McElrath quickly worked past for the lead. McElrath’s lead didn’t last much longer, and he also gave up the lead to a teammate, this time it was Dylan Ferrandis. Once Ferrandis took the lead he pulled away and was never challenged.
Second Moto –McElrath was the early leader and held the spot for the first 7 minutes before giving way to Hampshire. Hampshire also held the lead for about 7 minutes before getting passed by Ferrandis. Ferrandis quickly started pulling away from Hampshire. Like the first moto, once Ferrandis took the lead nobody could keep up. Jeremy Martin had a mediocre start and slowly worked his way up to third place.
450 Class
First Moto – Fredrik Noren and then Joey Savatgy were early leaders before quickly getting passed by Jason Anderson. Cooper Webb worked into second with Chase Sexton in third early on. Zach Osborne and Eli Tomac started putting pressure on Sexton and it was a four man battle for second place.
Sexton crashed and dropped out of the pack. It took about 15 minutes for Osborne to finally get past Webb for second, but Tomac wasn’t able to keep pace, and eventually surrendered fourth place to Justin Barcia. With two minutes left Tomac dropped another spot to Marvin Musquin. Barcia and Musquin kept up the charge and rode past Webb while Anderson was never challenged.
Second Moto – Adam Cianciarulo got the holeshot and held the lead for about four minutes before crashing and surrendering the lead to Osborne. Eli Tomac started deep in the pack and quickly worked his way up, moving into third place about ten minutes into the race. Tomac followed Anderson for awhile before finally getting past him. Anderson began to feel pressure from Sexton and eventually made a mistake, letting Sexton by. After that, Blake Baggett and Musquin got past as well.
Tomac was able to get close to Osborne and put on some pressure but never close enough to show Osborne a wheel.
