March 7, 2020 Daytona Int'l Raceway
Daytona Beach, FL
250 Class
Garrett Marchbanks took the holeshot and then was able to pull out to a good lead early on with Shane McElrath and Jordon Smith colliding and blocking the track behind Marchbanks. Chase Sexton settled into second place with nobody else close to the top two riders. Sexton was able to get Marchbanks in his sights over the last couple of laps, but never close enough to try to make a pass.
450 Class
Ken Roczen got the holeshot and fought off Jason Anderson for the first few turns and then pulled away from the pack. Cooper Webb and Eli Tomac started out in fifth and sixth place and worked their way through the pack. But by the time they got to podium spots, Roczen had a lead of over five seconds. Tomac finally got past Webb with about six minutes left in the race and 4.5 seconds behind Roczen. Tomac quickly got on Roczen’s rear wheel and with two minutes remaining took advantage of a bobble by Roczen to take the lead. Roczen kept close to Tomac, but wasn’t able to make another charge.
