Points leader Austin Forkner got injured in practice and was unable to race.
Forkner's absence left the door wide open for Chase Sexton and Justin Cooper to make up a lot of ground in the points chase.
Sexton quickly took the lead in the main event, but on the first lap Cooper collided with Sexton, causing them both to crash. Martin Davalos inherited the lead and was never challenged for the win.
Sexton and Cooper found themselves deep in the pack after going down, but worked their way to second and third place where they finished comfortably.
450 Class
Eli Tomac looked to be on his way to winning the first heat race when his bike quit running, sending him to the LCQ.
Cooper Webb took the holeshot in the main event with Marvin Musquin close behind. But on the second lap, Musquin crashed and fell back to 20th place.
Ken Roczen was fast all night and was following Joey Savatgy just behind Webb. Savatgy crashed on the fourth lap, taking Roczen down with him. Savatgy left the race with a shoulder injury.
Tomac started in 11th place, but worked his way up to second place like a man on a mission. About halfway through the race he finally got past Webb and then pulled away for the win without being challenged. |
