Austin Forkner crashed in the heat race and had to battle back to qualify for the main event. But once the main event started, he got a good start and only needed a couple turns to take the lead. Once he took the lead, he was never challenged.
450 Class
Marvin Musquin took the holeshot in the main event and went wire to wire, but it wasn’t without a challenge. Early on, Musquin was facing pressure from Joey Savatgy, and then Musquin began to pull away and it looked like he might run away. Then Eli Tomac moved into second and started catching up to Musquin but Tomac fell off the pace and gave way to Blake Baggett. Baggett spent most of the second half of the race about a second behind Musquin but was never able to get past him.
Cooper Webb didn’t have a good start and spent the first half of the race just outside of a podium spot until he was able to work past Tomac. Webb pushed Baggett a couple times but was never able to get past him. Tomac faded badly in the second half of the race.
Ken Roczen had a bad start and was never able to get past eighth place.
