Adam Cianciarulo started in third place and quickly worked his way past Colt Nichols and Cameron McAdoo, taking the lead early on the first lap. Nichols pushed Cianciarulo for the first six minutes before Cianciarulo started to pull away. With four minutes left, Dylan Ferrandis was able to push past Nichols into second place. Cianciarulo extended his lead to three seconds, but Ferrandis began to close the gap and by the final lap had closed the gap to under one second. But Cianciarulo held him off for the win.
450 Class
Cooper Webb took the holeshot with Marvin Musquin behind him. Webb slowly pulled away from the pack. Joey Savatgy and Ken Roczen worked up to second and third place midway through the race. But shortly later Savatgy’s bike quit running and he was out of the race. Eli Tomac had a bad start and moved into third place behind Roczen. It looked like the podium was set, but Tomac made a mistake and fell behind Musquin. Then Roczen slowed down and got passed by Musquin and Baggett. Musquin put on a charge and began chasing down Webb, who had extended his lead to over eight seconds at one point. Musquin was within a couple bike lengths of Webb on the final lap but was unable to make the pass.
