Only one point separated Jordon Smith, Joey Savatgy and Zach Osborne for the 250 east championship. On the opening corner, Zach Osborne was taken out as an innocent bystander and got up in last place. Adam Cianciarulo got the holeshot with Savatgy in second. Savatgy had a little tipover early in the race, allowing Jordon Smith to move into second.
Smith jumped off the track and lost spots, but got back in the chase, but only for about half a lap as he had a hard crashed and left the race.
Savatgy looked good for the championship but started falling back in the pack, while Osborne slowly worked his way up.
Cianciarulo entered the night in fourth place, but with all the carnage to the top three riders, Cianciarulo put himself in position to take the championship if Savatgy contined to fall back.
With 2 laps to go, Savatgy held the championship lead by 1 point over both Osborne and Cianciarulo.
Two laps before the checkered flag, Osborne made a pass on Savatgy while taking out his front wheel to win the championship.
The 450 main event had nearly as many fireworks as the 250 main. Eli Tomac entered the race trailing Ryan Dungey by 9 points for the championship. Tomac needed to win and have Dungey finish in fifth place or worse.
Tomac held the lead for most of the main event with Dungey right on his rear end most of the way, and even got past Tomac a couple of quick times. Despite staying in second most of the way, his fifth place finish was far from assured with a freight train of riders behind him, including Jason Anderson, Blake Baggett, Josh Grant and Chad Reed.
On the last half lap Dungey passed Tomac. Then a turn later, Tomac passed Dungey, but in the process both riders slowed down enough to let Anderson and Grant by.
Anderson held the lead for three more turns to take the win. Tomac stayed ahead of Grant to take second, with Grant grabbing third and Dungey falling to fourth.
