Jimmy Decotis took the holeshot in the 250 main and held the lead for the first 10 laps, looking to get his first career win, or at least his first career podium.
But Martin Davalos put a lot of pressure on Decotis and eventually got past Decotis for good. Davalos held onto first for 6 laps, with round 1 winner Shane McElrath reeling him in.
McElrath eventually worked his way past Davalos for the final 2 laps. And just like the previous two leaders, McElrath felt a challenger in Justin Hill. With Hill baring down on McElrath, the checkered flag came out and McElrath grabbed his second win of the season.
In the 450 class, Ken Roczen dominated round 1 and dominated the heat race. But in the main event, Ryan Dungey got out to the early lead to show that he's not ready to give up his #1 plate just yet. Dungey held the lead for 7 laps before Roczen took the pass. Dungey bird-dogged Roczen for the rest of the race, hanging about one second behind. On the final lap, Dungey got closer and looked like he might be able to take a final run at Roczen. But about 4 turns before the finish, he landed wrong in the whoop section and lost just enough time for Roczen to pull away for the win.
Marvin Musquin took third, but neither he nor anybody else ever threatened Dungey and Roczen. |
