Justin Bogle got the first moto holeshot and was feeling lots of pressure from Cooper Webb and Eli Tomac. Tomac followed Webb for a few laps before finally making a pass. But the pass didn’t last long, and Webb got back into second. A few turns later Tomac passed Webb again, this time for good. Tomac needed another lap to get past Bogle and then he checked out for an easy win.
Marvin Musquin crashed early on and needed help from onlookers to get his bike off him, but he recovered for a seventh place finish.
Blake Baggett holeshot the second moto and Ken Roczen blasted through a pack of KTM riders to get on Baggett's rear wheel by the end of the first lap and then taking the lead on the second lap. Baggett slowly faded back into the pack.
Musquin slowly worked his way close to Roczen and finally passed him about halfway through the moto and was never challenged.
Tomac started in seventh and slowly worked his way through the pack, passing Roczen for second with two laps to go, but was unable to get close to Musquin.

In the first moto, Alex Martin, Adam Cianciarulo and Dylan Ferrandis all spent time in the lead on the first lap with Ferrandis eventually settling in and inching away from Martin and Cianciarulo. Late in the moto Cianciarulo started getting pressure from Colt Nichols and RJ Hampshire. Hampshire eventually got by Cianciarulo, while Nichols had a minor crash that caused some bike damage.
Martin's bike started smoking with about 3 laps to go which may have slowed him down and allowed Hampshire to overtake him for second. Martin's bike died three turns from the finish when it looked like he was set for a third place finish.
Cianciarulo was penalized two positions for accelerating while off track early in the race.
Martin had another good start in the second moto, grabbing the early lead and hanging on for the first 10 minutes before giving way to Ferrandis who then pulled away for the win. Nichols and Cianciarulo kept close behind. Cianciarulo squeezed past Nichols for third about halfway through the race. About 10 minutes later Cianciarulo was able to work past Martin for second.
Hunter Lawrence made a late push and moved into fourth with two laps remaining. He then got close to Martin on the final lap, but unable to make a move on him. |
