250 Moto 1
Shane McElrath blasted out to an early lead and quickly pulled away from the pack. In a surprise, Jimmy Decotis held second place early on with Justin Cooper and Austin Forkner breathing down his neck. Forkner and Cooper eventually worked past Decotis. Forkner was on a mission and made up over 8 seconds on McElrath and took the lead with about 11 minutes left in the moto.
Forkner pulled away and McElrath faded with Alex Martin and Aaron Plessinger getting past him as well. Martin and Plessinger worked up to Forkner’s rear wheel with about 5 minutes left setting up a fantastic finish. Martin stayed close, but never caught Forkner as he held on for the win.
250 Moto 2
Forkner took the early lead with McElrath, RJ Hampshire and Martin running close. While Martin, McElrath, Hampshire, Savatgy and Ferrandis battled for podium spots behind him, Forkner started slipping away. But with about 5 minutes on the clock, Martin started making up ground on Forkner.
With less than 4 minutes left, Martin tried to make the pass but collided with Forkner taking both riders to the ground. Ferrandis inherited the lead and Forkner was out of the race. Martin fell back to 5th place. McElrath kept Ferrandis in sight, but was never able to make a move on him for the win.
450 Moto 1
Justin Bogle technically snagged the holeshot in his return to racing, but Ken Roczen quickly snuck by to take the early lead with Eli Tomac running about 11th. Justin Barcia followed Roczen for awhile and quickly made a pass for the lead 10 minutes into the race with Marvin Musquin passing Roczen for second place a minute later. Another minute later Tomac joined the party and passed Roczen for third.
Two more minutes later Barcia got passed by Musquin and Tomac and the two began to pull away from Barcia and Roczen. Tomac pushed Musquin hard, but Musquin wasn’t giving Tomac any room to make a pass. Finally, after an incredible battle Tomac blasted by Musquin just before the white flag. A few turns later, Musquin crashed while trying to get Tomac back, giving the win to Tomac.
450 Moto 2
Bogle grabbed another holeshot, but quickly surrendered it to Musquin. Tomac started about 10th and quickly moved up to 4th. Tomac took the lead from Musquin about 4 minutes into the race and began to check out. But Tomac fell with about 18 minutes left and allowed Musquin to catch up to him. Tomac quickly pulled away, but crashed again with about 10 minutes left, giving the lead – and eventually the win – to Musquin.
